There is, of course, the ‘break-in’ service that must be performed on all new engines/new bikes.  After that, the easy way to remember is that every 2500 miles, the bike needs servicing.  The level of service needed depends on the mileage.  For example, a 2500 mile service is not nearly involved as a 10,000 mile service, but both are important for the longevity of your motorcycle.
